Salt, Light, Doves, Serpents etc: Navigating Secular Academia as a Catholic

This workshop investigates how Catholics can navigate, persevere, and thrive in an academic university environment - particularly if that environment feels hostile to our faith or resistant to the truth. Participants will explore a range of practical, intellectual, and spiritual avenues for both safeguarding their own faith during their university years, and for proposing and illuminating truth, goodness and beauty precisely in and through their studies.

Encounter and Growth - Kerygmatic Discipleship in Youth Ministry

Over the past 15 years, the value of youth ministry has risen to new heights. At the same time, it often remains under-funded with limited formation and mixed success. What often results is a one size fits all approach to youth ministry that achieves success incidentally rather than intentionally. In this Seminar, Louisa and Fr Josh break open a ‘Kerygmatic Discipleship’ approach to youth ministry that seeks to bring young people to an encounter with Jesus, and draw them into discipleship in a way that meets their pastoral needs.

PRESENTER: Fr. Josh Whicker and Louisa Daniels

Contemplative Creative Prayer

Come and make space to co-create with God! Each day participants will be invited to explore a contemplative creative process as a way of listening to God, resting, and responding. You do not need to have any artistic talent, as this is about the prayer process and not the product. There will be input for the first section, followed by at time of self directed creative prayer, in a space of your choosing around the retreat centre (all creative materials will be supplied). You are the artisan of your own spiritual formation - this is an opportunity to explore, be open and receive, in order to be refreshed in our relationship with God and our service to others.
